- Coach Nick Smalley grew up in Martinez, CA, near San Francisco, playing high school baseball at College Park high. From 1996 to 1998 he played he played for Los Medanos Junior college in Pittsburg, CA and in 1999 went on to play ball at Arizona State University. Returning to California due to injuries.

- Coach Smalley now works as a coach for the Cal Knights as well as Aliso Niguel high school, while he attends California State University Fullerton, pursuing a degree in Kinesiology.

- Has spent the last few years as a volunteer coach for a local Mission Viejo little league and has also spent time working with our 18U Cal Knights team during the summer league.

- Currently he resides in Huntington Beach, CA with his wife and is also the Head freshman coach at Aliso Niguel High School, and last year was the assistant Varsity coach at Aliso Niguel HS.
