Nelson Rodriguez Biography
- Coach Nelson Rodriguez played three years of Varsity baseball as pitcher, third baseman and outfielder at Valencia High School, where he earned 2nd Team All Orange League in his Senior season with a 4-1 record on the mound, and a .320 batting average.
- After high school, Coach Rodriguez continued to play ball at Mt. San Antonio College as a second baseman and outfielder, then went on to play at the University of La Verne for his final two years, gaining 2nd Team All SCIAC in his Junior season.
- After college Coach Rodriguez continued to play for two summers for teams in Belgium and Holland.
- Coach Rodriguez started his coaching career at the age of 18 at the helm of a Little League Seniors team for two seasons. He also coached for a season at Fullerton High School working with several players that went on to play at Cal State Fullerton and UNLV.
- Coach Rodriguez coached for four seasons at Northview High School in Covina, CA, (three years as head Junior Varsity coach, and one year as Assistant Varsity Coach.)
- Coach Rodriguez has a love for the game of baseball and is looking forward to his first season with the Cal Knights. He enjoys working with kids and teaching the game of baseball, and believes that, "if your not having fun while playing the game of baseball, then there is something wrong. Play hard, have fun, and always be learning!"
